Single Work and Residence Permit (employer-sponsored)

The standard route for most non-EU hires: one procedure covering residence and work for a named employer. The administrative unit decides with input from the Employment Service of Slovenia (ZRSZ), which examines the vacancy registration and labour-market conditions. Permits are typically issued for up to one year initially and are renewable while the employment conditions continue to be met.

EU Blue Card (highly qualified)

Application sequence

  3. File the Single Permit application at the competent administrative unit with contracts, qualifications, passport and insurance evidence.

  5. After arrival: address registration, residence-card biometrics, health-insurance and tax-number activation.
